Palo Alto Ninjutsu was founded by shihan (senior instructor) Yaron Galant, a 30 year Bujinkan veteran. Yaron studied in Israel and Japan, where he still frequently visits to practice under the tutelage of Dr. Hatsumi and some of his most senior students.

Palo Alto Ninjutsu is named after a 1,000 years old Sequoia redwood tree located in the city of Palo Alto (named after the same tree) in the San Francisco bay area, CA.   Sequoia redwood trees, and this tree in particular represent the resilience and character required for a single living entity to withstand a thousand years. These same unique attributes are shared with Ninjutsu as a whole and with Bujinkan in particular.
